I love shooting 223's. They are fun, accurate, and compared to other center fire cartridge's - Cheap to shoot! But, I also like shooting long heavy bullet's and none of my other 223's can accept the 75gr - 88gr bullet's because of the twist rate or OAL issues with the magazines.
I built a nice custom 22 Creedmoor a couple years ago, just so I could shoot these type of bullet's. I love it! So, I decided to build it a twin little brother.
The 22 Creedmoor - ARC Gen 1 LH Nucleus action with a 30moa rail and ARC's Barlok barrel nut system, X-Caliber 1-8 twist 20" barrel, Trigger Tech Diamond trigger, KRG Bravo chassis, ARC M10 rings, and a S&B PMII 5-25x56 scope.
The 223 - ARC Gen 2 LH Nucleus action with a 30moa rail, a Rock Creek 1-7 twist 20" shouldered barrel from PVA chambered + .100" freebore, Trigger Tech Special trigger, KRG Bravo chassis, ARC M10 rings and a S&B PMII 5-25x56 scope.
Thanks goes out to Hunting 2019 for showing us the Alcohol Ink paint job's he did on a couple of his gun's. I had fun painting the Bravo with them, and everyone that has seen it thinks it is a walnut stock. Another thanks goes out to Ccrider. I wasn't planning on putting another S&B on this gun, but he was selling his for a great deal and it wasn't much more than I had planned on spending for some decent glass. Now it has great glass!
I took the pics before the trigger arrived, but it has one now!
I've only had time to shoot test loads once at 100 yards. It didn't care much for Power Pro 2k with the 75gr ELD-M bullet's, but showed some decent results out of the gate with the same powder and the 80gr ELD-M's. I pulled the first shot on the best group, the next 4 shots were .285"
The best group that I shot so far-
