My New 20 Tactical

After a lot of research into building a hot 20 cal, I decided I needed to find a suitable donor rifle. But due to nothing really fitting the bill, I was starting to look for a new rifle to use. Then I was put onto a guy selling his Tactical 20 he had spent a lot building. So I ended up purchasing that, as it was too good to pass up.

Specs:
Tikka 595
Tikka Continental Varmint stock pillar bedded
Trueflite Ultramatch #4 contour barrel 24" long 1:10 twist
Gunworks suppressor
1x 3rnd mag 1x 6rnd mag
I also got in the deal the reloading dies, 366x empty Lapua cases, 130rnds loaded rounds with Hornady 40gr V-Max projectiles, 25.6g Vitavouri N133 powder, and CCI 450 primers.

I have put a Vortex Diamondback 3.5-10x50 on it as a temporary scope until I can save enough for a "good" scope. I did have it on my AR15, so had to get a Vortex Strikefire II to put on that.
Tested the 20tac out this past weekend on our club's annual long range steel shoot.
Managed to hit the 880m gong with the wee 20cal. Tried for the 1010m gong but the wind was just too much.
Was deadly accurate even with the rough sighting in I gave it. Can't wait to use it on the bunnies and wallaby's next. :)

Excellent choice on a fine rifle. Did seller have any specs regarding his reamer choice? Can you tell how much inletting of the stock was required for a nice fit with the #4 contour?

Haven't taken it all apart so don't know what/how much inletting was done.
Also don't know what reamer was used, but the gunsmith that did the work is very well renowned here.

I just built a 20 Tactical in an AR15 with a heavy 1"-.936" barrel 20" long. Should be a hammer on gophers.

As for the 1010m gong at your range...you might as well give that up because you'll never hit it consistently. 800-900 yards is absolute Max range for 20 Cal's with bullets 40gr or less. I have a 204 Ruger that pushes the 39gr Sierra BKs at 4030 fps and it is really accurate at 600-800 yards. So I gave it a run at 1000 yards. Had a spotter in the pits and he said my bullets we're tumbling and flying all over the place. I was able to hit an official 1K BR target one time out of about 6 attempts, but it wasnt the one I was aiming at! LOL! The lighter bullets just lose so much velocity at that distance they become extremely unstable and start tumbling. Once that happens, only the good lord knows where they'll land ;)

Yeah just tried the 1k target for shits and giggles really. Would have to have perfect conditions for it to get to 1k.
I was very happy it got out to 880m. :)

Plan is to use it to smack bunnies and wallaby's occasionally. I have my AR for blasting away at the pesky critters.
