My long-range AR coyote setup

Been using my 9 twist AR 223AI for coyotes lately and really getting some good results. I have the 3-9X 32mm 22LR PFI Rapid Reticle on top, and just love it right here-- www.rapidreticle.com . I adapted the reticle to the trajectory of the JLK 65 gr. Low Drag at 3055 mv, and it's been doing very well all the way out to 500 yds. so far.

Anybody else out there using an AR for coyote hunting??

have you ever used any of the jlk 52gr low drag? I read an article about them that said they were really good for long distance? I think it was in the varmint hunter. I have never tried them but I would like to. RG

I have used 69 grain Sierras in my 1-8 twist AR, but for some reason the 50 VMax & 52 gr Sierras shoot a little better in my gun. Everything from ground squirrels to wolves, seems to not like this combination out of my les Baer AR. Jim Zumbo probably wouldn't like to hear that though:rolleyes:

Hey Rundm, how'd u like the article? That was mine if u're talking about the most recent issue. haven't tried the 52's, but they would fit in a std. magazine just fine. I like the 65's due to it's high BC.

Hey Steve, I enjoyed both your latest articles. One in Varmint Hunter and one in Small Caliber News........You are getting right popular around here......I still like "Fur Bullets for Southern Colorado Coyotes" LOl............ George

Thks. a lot Gge. That reticle rangefinding article didn't turn out so good in TVHM, and i was truly hoping for some great things from it. There were several misprints, and 1 with the calculations. When they blew the photos up of the 2 reticles it distorted them some. Oh well, sometimes that happens, and every writer needs to learn to accept it. I guess we all make mistakes sometimes--God knows i do.
