My little small action Sako collection

Here's my L-46 Vixen. I found it in a Colorado gun shop just passing through. It came with the Riimakki barrel and the removable iron sights and an extra magazine. It's in .222 but currently sporting a Lilja barrel and Can-Jar trigger. Great little rodent rifle. I saved the barrel, just in case someone might like to have it down the line.

I'm glad to hear a Canjar trigger will work in the L46, as I was thinking it would have to be an L461 in order to take it. I'm wanting to marry my L-46 Vartarg with a recently purchased trigger!

That's a really good looking stock CZ - every once in awhile, I see a Sako with an especially nice factory stock, and this one is definitely one of the nicest I've seen for quite a while...

What are you doing about ejector springs, aren't they as scares as hens teeth???
Sir, you might be thinking of the long extractor that is spring steel and dovetails longitudinally into the bolt body, there is no additional spring. And yes, they are scarce! They are quite different than the "Sako extractor" that you'd install in a Rem 700 bolt.

I unknowingly let a carbon ring develop in my L461 17MachIV and blew a few primers which bent the extractor. Bending the extractor back into position weakened it so I needed a replacement which I found at Midwest Gun Works for $154. That was over 10 years ago and I surely as hell don't want to try to find another one today.

I clean a little more often now and focus on preventing a carbon ring. I really dont want to have to fabricate and heat treat an L461 extractor.

Yes the extractor not the spring...
