Today marks the first time my Grandson has ever competed. He is 12 years old. He lives in Chandler (Phoenix area) Arizona. I have been shooting with him, when he lived here a couple of years ago, for about 3 years. When he first started he was short enough he could not get on the stock to see thru the scope of my .22 Marlin. However, he could and did pull the trigger! Well 2 years ago, just prior to him moving to AZ, I took him to the range to shoot my 6mmBR. Off the bench he fired 5-5shot groups>>>largest was about 1.5" and his smallest about an inch! Not bad for his first time on a centerfire rifle and at 300 yards! We zoom ahead now, 2 years later and he is visiting me in Houston. We went to the range (P.S.C. in Friendswood) last Wednesday, where for the first time, he shot prone in practice. We were at 200 yards and he shot several groups, using my .223 Rem and basically he kept all of them inside an inch. So today, at P.S.C. they host a 200 yard F-Open / F-T/R "Fun Shoot" >> 60 shots for score. Well, Jared, my grandson, promptly shot a 600 - 49X count! He beat EVERYONE! This is only the 3rd time on a centerfire and his very first competition! All I can say is WOW!!! Way to go Jared!
