My Daughter and I are confused about Reticle type for F class

Great advice again. We are getting closer to making a decision and I will post what we did soon. On another note we have questions regarding power. There are the 8-32x56 and the 10-50x60 scopes. Which ones are used most by F class shooters and why. My daughter and i keep arguing about which to get for someone just starting out. I say 8-32 she says 10-50. Neither of us have much experience with long range. Just don't know what to do about power. It seems like shooters only go up to 24x in their scopes capability due to mirage so what difference does it make? :-\

She's right on this one.
The most used scope is actually the 12-42 NF.

Most shooters I know will shoot at highest power available. I always shoot at 42 power, can't remember ever turning the power down.

Get the 10-50 or 12-42, as both of those have 32x power, and 8x power is useless in LR shooting anyway.

Some of my winning-circle friends shoot their 12-42x NF's strictly on 42 power, no matter what; and with the new NF 55x Competition scope, they may only shoot on 55 power!? I shoot up and down the 42x power scale on my NF 12-42's. Under a wind coach I will always shoot full scope power, mirage permitting, to better hold on the 1/2 and 1/4 (even 1/8th!!) ring holds that the coach may call. Shooting individually, I will turn down to the low 30'sx, even high 20'sx to better view the mirage flow in the riflescope. Yet on a clear, still, morning match; I will go full power. I would recommend getting the higher powered scope, unless price is an issue...you can always turn the power down; while you can't turn a low powered scope up to where you might like to be.
