My 6BR is shooting bug holes at 200 yards!

It is running stupid slow but the accuracy is insane. Will post picture but shot a 10 round group Saturday and 8 of them made one jagged hole running 2466fps with ES of 9. Shooting Norma brass and 26.0 gr of RL15 pushing 107gr SMK's and Fed205m primers. Hoping it will hold this accuracy out to 300 yards for our local matches if we ever have any??

Heres the picture of the target. The orange "dot" is 1 inch. First shot was really low so I cranked up the scope and went a little far for the next shot, came down and 2 clicks left and put 8 more in that cluster.

It's a great feeling ain't it? What are the particulars of your rifle? How did you happen upon going as low as 26 Gr of R15?

Its a Savage model 10T that started life as a Cabela's special 6.5 Creedmoor. I rebarreled it with a 26" Shilen heavy stainless 6mmBR and mounted the whole thing in a MDT Oryx chassis. I mostly load for lower nodes as I only have access to 300 yards for shooting anywhere near me. Why kill the brass and me with "killer" loads to only shoot 300 yards, right? I normally start in the middle of what everybody seems to be shooting but I go the other direction,.. down in charge weights looking for a stable ES number and accuracy (tiny groups).

My experience is that there is ALWAYS a slow node that shoots better than anything else. Only reason to run a high node is "performance" but it has always come at the cost of accuracy and consistency in my experience. My slow node on my 22BR with 88ELDs is down at 2600fps. Shoots dots there.

That is slow for a 22BR, hoping to get some great accuracy with my current build as well. Built a Savage bolt action in .224 Valkyrie still breaking it in but it looks real promising with 75 and 88gr ELD's running around 2700-2800.

Clearly I've got some more load development to do. Gotta scratch that low node itch I've been ignoring for too long. But I'm fast becoming a believer.
