My 6BR build is almost finished.

Hey guys,gals

Well as the title says I'm almost finished with my 6br build. My goal for this gun was to just have a fun gun that I can be proud of. She started out life as a bone stock Savage model 12 f class. It has a 29" barrel which I can not figure out because the Savage site says they sport a 30" tube? I did buy it a few years ago so maybe that has changed?
The chassis was made be Masterpiece arms. The owner was great to work with. I was having a hard time finding anyone who offered a chassis for the 3 screw target action. I called Phil and He told me to send my barreled action to him. Within 6 weeks I had my rifle back. That was even after they had made one chassis cerakoted it and was testing it. Phil got ahold of it and did not like how it fit so he had them scrap it, build a second with the changes he wanted so it would be perfect. I am really impressed with this chassis and the customer support!

I chose to use an EGW scope rail with a Warne one piece cantilever mount. I mounted a Vortex HST 6x24 scope on it.

She will shoot in the low 2's with 108gr eld's sitting on top 31gr of leverevolution running 2870fps. I know that isn't the best load for short range work but.....it does really well at distance.

I finally got to stretch it's legs out to 1000 yards. My goal was to be able to hit a milk jug full of water. I did it in 12 shots which was ok but I know I could of hit it in a lot less if we could of called the shots. Where we were shooting has a grassy meadow as a back drop so it was very hard to see impacts. Once we figured out where we were hitting I ended up dialing 25.5moa. one shot later I hit the jug. After checking the target the second time, I had shot a 3.75" five shot group.

I think this will be a very fun all around gun. From varmint to paper and steel! I really want to take it to Utah and shoot the milk jug challenge.
The next steps will be to get a 20moa base, tighter fitting bolt and a 28 nosler barrel for some longer range work and maybe even some hunting.

I hope you enjoy
