Muzzle Threads

Henry and Rossi use 5/8-24 threads on their 45-70 rifles that have threaded muzzles. Doesn't that make the barrel pretty thin in that area or is it no big deal?

It is thin, but I don't see it as that big of a deal. 45-70 is a pretty low pressure round, comparatively.

I see multiple 30 cal barrels threaded 1/2-24, including 300WSM and 300WM. No issues with those.
