Muzzle break

I saw a vid this morning and a pro shooter strongly encourages mercury recoil suppressors over muzzle brakes until up into the really heavies past the 7mm Rem mag. Would much like to hear other opinions.

JMHO, but that guy hasn't got a clue. The difference between a brake and no brake is night and day. They're actually more efficient on smaller caliber high pressure rounds than they are on the big bores. The difference between mercury recoil suppressor and plain ol' dead wait is very minimal.

Thanks for your feedback guns...This vid is on youtube.com. Its about 12 minutes long. If you enter "sniper 101 part 56" you can see it. If you get time, I'd appreciate your opinion on this guy.
Thanks.

I just hate recoil my bench gun has two recoil reducers and a break and it is a 6 dasher. Yes the break your putting on will work. My testing I like a break with a chamber in it and a tight fitting bore. Installing a break is just as important as cutting a chamber or finishing a crown. I feel to install a brake you must use a range rod and two spiders to find the true bore. I have never seen a break that hurt accuracy unless it wasn't installed properly. Good Shooting Larry

If you install a mercury recoil suppressor and shoot it, and then remove it and add the same weight, you will notice a lot of difference in the amount of recoil....
The 257 brake opened to .277 for the 25 caliber will be .014 larger than it should be for MAX accuracy on a 6mm...
