Muzzle Brake recommendations for 22 Creedmoor

I’m finishing my very first build! It’s a .22 CM, and the last component I need is a muzzle brake.

It doesn’t look like there are many options out there for 22, but I’ve been reading some mixed perspectives about using a larger caliber brake.

Any perspective on a quality 22 brake or whether it’s ok to go with a 6 or 6.5 brake.

Thanks

You will not feel the difference on a brake with a .020” bigger hole. I shoot alot of 6mm and some 6.5mm. Most of brakes are made for 6.5mm. Barrels are expendable but brakes can be reused

ROSS brakes are really nice units --last one I got was $50
I just can't believe that spending $200-$300 on a brake gets you that much more than the well designed ROSS I have three and they serve me very Well--he will turn them to match your barrel diameter too
Just one of the best kept secrets in this business
The "un-timed" units do NOT require a gun smith and machine tools--if you have a sheet of glass or a smooth flat surface and some sand paper you twirl that brake in a Figure 8 until it indexes Perfectly--takes about 30 minutes at the most --go too far? prick punch the rear of the brake and start over--easy as pie

Harrells makes a really good radial brake that doesn't cost much. Can be turned to blend with the barrel contour. I have several, they work well. Then there's the Patriot Valley self timing JetBlast brake, a beautiful thing with 3 shaped ports each side, 5/8-24 thread....about $125. Very nice having large shaped ports and being able to clock them properly. I'll be mostly using those now. **** Don't worry about the hole size in the end.

The Area 419 brakes works very well. Have a friend who got a Botnia but I think that the incremental improvement that he reports is mainly a result of convincing himself more $$$ = more better. I have also used some other brakes like the Miculek brake that works very well too and is a fair amount cheaper.

I have a couple of from Keenoarms, they make the Shrewd Muzzle Brakes.

I use the Area 419 hellfire, I have several from 6mm to 338 they work great and the mounting system/universal adapters are really handy for swapping brakes and suppressors around.
