Muzzle Brake plus blast shield

I'm going to do some kind of blast shield for my 338Imp. with a Fat Bastard. It's HORRIBLE!!!. I'm thinking of a piece of plywood with a slot for the barrel. Mine will blow the paint off a car! Did I mention it's horrible?

The one combination that I've used that worked well is the Surefire SOCOM and Surefire Warden. Don't know what you're shooting, but I've used the SOCOM muzzle brake/suppressor mount in both 5.56 and 7.62 sizes (on ARs and 308 bolt rifles). Not the most radical muzzle brake, but does produce noticeable recoil reduction. The Warden mounts to both sizes of SOCOM and significantly tames lateral blast/sound.

Thank you. I'm breaking in a new 270 Weatherby Magnum and have been warned multiple times of the recoil and concussive blast that affects both shooter and fellow range members. It seems the traditional hunting rifle has fell by the wayside a bit. LOL

I have been on range once when someone was sighting their 270 Weatherby Magnum with the factory porting.... DEAFENING!!!! Also was scorching the carpet on top of the bench...
He was asked to NOT bring it back to the range...
Even the original 270 is loud, something about the caliber I guess...??? A 27 cal, 30/06 is what it is.
