Muzzle Brake for Urban Rifleman Barrel

I just installed a new Urban Rifleman barrel --LOVE it! I ordered the full fat barrel which comes in at 1.057 diameter --so I go looking for a reasonable priced effective muzzle brake and well---it was a chore to find BUT--I am glad I found ROSS Muzzle Brakes--He has a one inch- not a perfect match but it turned out fine-so I ordered one--screwed it on and was pleased to see I only needed to remove a few thou to get it to line up right--sanded carefully on a flat granite --took my time and in about 30 minutes she fit like a charm! No gun smith--$49!!!! You can't beat it anywhere--I had my first ROSS--a self timing on my Savage--It was .875 and worked great on that thinner barrel--I had put a radial on the Remington for ease of install--but after three days side by side in the PD field with the same load --I decided I liked the side port MUCH better--I like the row of holes on top that seem to control muzzle rise a little--Overall I think that the ROSS brakes are a steal for the way they work and the value. Give them a look I think you will be well pleased and save some Loot $$$

This is my favorite so far. The Lambda PRS 30.

Harrells makes several diameters...probably the largest selection out of all the brake manufacturers...

Yes I saw that.

With the prefit nut barrel you obviously need to be able to tune the timing somehow. So the PRS style adjustable timing types seem to be the easiest choice.

I agree with you I've never been a big fan of the radials as they're incredibly loud especially under an overhang.

l’ve been able to time several brakes b standing it up on a piece of emery cloth and slowly taking metal off of the mating surface. You have to be careful because a little goes a long way. The first one I did like that ended up being a tiny bit past where I wanted it.

Thats an interesting comment on the radial brakes. I’ve always felt that my radial brakes were a lot quieter than the ones that I have with the big ports lIke you posted earlier in this thread. The only real drawback that I’ve encountered with radial brakes is shooting prone in dry conditions and getting a face full of dust on every shot.

First rounds after the new ROSS brake--today--4 shots, 75 ELDM, 24.2 Varget, Fed 205, 2748 FPS--seating depth was .063 off which is what would Just fit and feed in my MDT mags
Remington nut barrel 223 7 twist ISSF chamber--primers looked perfect zero pressure signs anywhere
It looked tuned to me

I have to say I noticed first thing today that this side port brake was much quieter or should I say comfortable for me than the radial I had on it--I did the radial as it was easy button on install but like the other poster said I just sanded on a granite VERY slowly and carefully until I got this one on right--lucky it started out about 11 o clock so it was an easy one
The ROSS has holes in the top as well---just seemed to work perfect today first time out
Lots for me to learn glad to read about others experiences
