I'm a machinist at an aerospace company where the boss man is friendly enough to let me use the machines for personal use after hours so I've been messing around for a couple months trying alot of different configurations with the goal of making a muzzle brake for my 1895 Trapper that is short and streamlined while giving some noticable recoil reduction without extreme muzzle blast.
I've finally come up with a version I would deem successful so I figured I'd run off a handful of them while the machine was setup to offer for sale.
These are made to match the barrel diameter of the new Ruger made 1895's with the 11/16-24 threaded muzzle. Will only add 3/4" total length to the rifle.
No they aren't going to make your .45-70 feel like a .22 but with the heavy higher pressure loads there absolutely is a very noticeable reduction in recoil. Lower pressure/ slower loads you probably aren't going to feel much difference.
They are CNC machined from 416 stainless steel and I can do a bead blast finish to match the Trapper or a brushed finish to match the SBL.
Price is $75 shipped.
