Muzzel Brake Problem

So, my muzzle brake will not stay on tight. I have only tried hand tightening. Is it ok to use a bit of blue Loctite on the treads? It mates up perfectly to the barrel but, I feel it spins on to easy.

Worth a try. Loctite is supposed to be good up to 300 deg. F and your barrel muzzle should not be getting that high.

You should tighten it just like a barrel is on a action with torque . The tension is needed to stop vibrations Tuners if not design properly will give you the same result on paper that you get when the brake is loose . The can make a gun gun go from good to ugly in a heart beat . Just put a screw driver ora punch through and bump it tight to the shoulder .
Check also to make sure the break is tighing to the shoulder not being held back from not haveing the thread relief in the brake .
Good luck and happy new year Larry

You should use something through the slots to tighten the brake on. Hand tight is asking for it to come loose. If it the brakes timing is off when you tighten it up then a guess some blue loctite would work. I know some guys who install brakes with loctite and neve take them off. They just clean the ports on the rifle.

Thank you. Guess I'll try something through the holes and see if that works. If not, I'll go the punch and Loctite way.
