multiple stocks, one gun?

I am a newbie out here but I was curious.

Do any of you use one gun for different purposes enough that you have more than one stock for it?

One day you are competing, the next have it in the field with a different stock better suited to the use?

Yes you can. I have 3 or 4 that I switch stocks and barrels. I bed the action to stock for the same action. If I have a bull barrel and sporter barrel I bed for the bull barrel, because I want it to shoot the best. The sporter barrel will some times not have the first part of barrel bedded exactly, but I'm not as worried about accuracy. I know one person that has one action and he uses this action with different stocks and barrel for 1K and F-class and very good.

A LOT cheaper idea is place two threaded pillars or bed a threaded plate in the fore and build a 3 inch plate to attach to the stock,if you are wanting to shoot a hunting, tactical, etc stock from a rest). I have also seen attachments built to fit an accessory rail. If you have the money for multiple stocks and time to switch back and forth and re-sight a properly bedded stock should have no problem switching back and forth. Personally, when I have a gun shooting good I don't want to be taking it apart and re-assembling it. Take care.

Could also buy a single rifle Like the Blaser LRS2 which has the option to switch barrels in few seconds and use same scope with no loss of zero, also the same bolt mech in standard will work between 6mm to 308, paul.
