MTR trigger

Anxiously awaiting the arrival of a custom trigger for the CZ 457 MTR. I requested a single stage 3oz. Everything I’ve heard about the BSCAR triggers has been exemplary.

Awesome. I’m still waiting. I must be pretty far down the list, twice. I’ll go with the single stage 3oz too.
I assume he emailed you to ask what version you wanted and that’s how you knew it was your time?

Yes, Sir. There are a few of my shooting buddies that are waitIng for their orders as well. From all that I’ve heard, we should be quite pleased. I can only imagine how swamped Bill must be trying to keep up with the demand. Hopefully yours will arrive in a timely manner. I’m curious to see what my serial number will be. That should indicate how many he’s produced.

I bought one at the ABRA Nationals. Seems two stage as there is a tiny bit of movement before “resistance” is felt, then it breaks like glass - no creep. It measures a consistent 2.5 oz, plus or minus .1 oz.

it was a little wide for my MTR stock. I had to carve out maybe 1/16” space for the safety lever. This may be a bigger concern with an aluminum chassis.

My trigger arrived today. Very nice workmanship! I guess that I was in a good spot on Bills list. My serial # is 28. I can hardly wait to install it.

Trigger is installed. I’m just back from the first trial session. The trigger is really sweet. I didn’t shoot very well. I think it may take a bit of getting used to.

I went with the Timney CZ457 trigger. Set it at 10 ounces. Pretty nice compared to the OEM trigger but not as nice as the Trigger Tech Diamond in my Bergara B14R.

I rec’d mine (Scar) a while back and had some issues. Worked with Bill to get it straightened out. Had to send it back for a modification. The last 2 times I went to the range it worked flawlessly. Mine is set for BR single stage 3oz.

I have 2 of Bills triggers, #10 and #11. They are set at 3 oz each. very nice triggers. One is in a KRG Bravo chassis. Very easy to fit. minimal fitting required. Did it with a file..

My Timney trigger started out at 10 ounces. After shooting it some it is now just below 6 ounces.

You guys have me thinking about a trigger for my MTR running my factory one at a hair over 2 pounds not really sure what i would gain with a 3 oz or 6 oz trigger.

With a 6 ounce or less trigger you can shoot free recoil. Depending on how your 2 pound trigger breaks that 2 pound force can influence how the rifle recoils. Minimizing the external forces on the rifle is the goal.

I can see that helping free recoil. I hold my rimfire with a firm grip and shoulder. Prob wont benefit me any. Or not really noticeable.

Okay, folks, I got to try the new SCAR trigger at 300 today. I like it a lot. I tried some SK Rifle Match & Lapua Center X. The SK printed at 10 1/4”.

I thought the same thing, I've always had factory triggers and since my MTR is now my 'project' I thought wth, I'll try it out.

Its a smoother trigger and has a cleaner break. It also uses a different hammer spring. Its not that paper clip looking spring that hooks under the receiver, its an actual spring. The coating on the metal is also some pretty slick stuff. No need to polish anything. I'm pretty sure the inards are designed different, but Im not taking it apart to look. lol

If your trigger is working for you at 2 lbs it might not do you any good, but you should try lightning it up to see if you notice a difference in your shooting. (actually your shooting pretty good as is maybe dont adjust anything lol )
I like mine under 1lb from the bench. The less movement from me the better.

Not trying to sell their product to anyone, but I noticed a difference and I like it.
