MR2000 , 185 Jugs in .308

Itching to try the 185 Jugs in the .308 for the first time. I never used MR2000 before and does anyone have any good results with that powder in the .308? Any loads you like to share, of course I'll work up. I know Varget is my go to powder, just thought that MR2000 will work nice with the heavies.

I had great luck with H4350 and the 185s. As I recall 42-43 gr. in Lapua brass and Wolf primers was the ticket.

I have good luck with IMR 2000. If I remember correctly I run 47.4 gr in Lapua brass and a Winchester primer. I have yet to shoot it when it’s been hot. I’ve only got to shot it at probably 80f or less. Remember work up your load to this point

I shoot .308 with the Berger 185gr Juggernauts in Lapua Winchester Brass and CCI BR-2 primers using Varget powder. I have had great luck with it.
For me and my rifle which has a 30 inch barrel, I use 43.5gr of powder. That produces about 3100 fps.

It's a ridiculous speed, are you sure its 3,100 fps? I don't believe a .308 can drive a 185 bullet at 3,100 fps especially with Varget and a 30 inch barrel.

I was doing a ladder with irons from the bench at 200, when 47.7 and 48.1 showed close elevation, I loaded 47.9, it stayed with group. I went with it, shot these, tested how well it maintained grouping and elevation cranking the windage knob, then went to a 1K match, the load shot real well.

I tried that combo. Speed was great. Accuracy was left wanting. I went 42-45 grains hoping to find something. The only combo I didn't try was a different primer . Was using fed rifle match. Maybe a different primer? I just went back to varget. Wish the varget poured like the 2000 from the dispenser. Good luck.

2000MR is great with all weights in .308. You should be able to get to 2900 fps, with a long barrel and 3.000 col.
I can say this because I shoot 190 Noslers at over 2900 fps in Winchester brass. Accuracy has always been stellar.

It will work great, awesome velocity, until it throws shots out of the top of the 9 ring..

MR2000 is double based and temperature sensitive. Many F-TR shooters tried it about 4 or 5 yrs ago. Nobody that I know is still shooting it.

I use it today in my 7-08 hunting rifle.

I use 45.6g 2000MR in LC match brass (heavy like Lapua) with 190g Noslers and a MAG primer. I had much better results with a MAG primer than standard.

47.2 2000-MR with 185 Hybrid, Federal Gold Medal Match primer and Lapua LP brass. I shoot a 26" 1 in 10 Bartlien and see speeds over 2,800 FPS. It gets hot here in the summer and there is a bit of temp sensitivity to deal with using that powder. Shoots pretty well out as far as I've tried it (1250 yards).
