Mounting the SIII 10-50X56

Just for your info, I went to mount my new SIII 10-50X60 today and found that the high Signiture Z rings weren't sufficient to provide bell clearance with a Badger Ordnance 20 moa picatinny base atop a HV conour barrel. I didn't try a straight base w/o any moa but that might have barley cleared. I had a set of X-high Signature Z rings but found out they were just to high leaving the bell close to 3/8" off the barrel, wow big height difference between the two Burris rings. So I used a set of tacticals I had on hand which I sure will leave light ring marks if they're ever removed.

Regards
RJ

hello,

I have the new sightron 10x50x60 and like you found that the high rings from burris were the answer. my base is a bat 20 degree and I now have about 1/8 of an inch clearance. I was very happy when I went to the range and tried the scope out it did better than I could have hoped for did the box trial and it worked great returning to p.o.a. two different times. The scope is worth the money but having to buy the sunshade and lends caps is a rip off as far as i,m conserned. The scope is to be the top of the line and you can buy the 8x32 and you get them with the scope.

thanks a lot and good luck

I almost got the Sightron, BUT, for a bit more I got another NF BR.
The sunshade and covers kinda turned me off plus NF is just plain "the best".
