Mounting a picatinny rail to a Weaver rail

I have an older AR-15 with an integrated Weaver rail. I want to install Picatinny scope rings but will need an adapter. I have searched almost everywhere with no luck. Does anyone know who might make this type of adapter?

Also, does anyone know the width of the recoil lug on a Picatinny scope ring? Should be approx. .190-.200".

Thanks

It was a custom build in approx 1994. It is an Olympic arms upper. No model number.

I'm guessing that I might just have to use a milling machine to widen the slots.

So, it looks like a flat top picatinny, but is Weaver spec's? Is that what you have? I've just never heard of a AR-15 with an integrated Weaver rail. But I do know that Olympic Arms did some strange things when they were a start-up.

With that said I might have some thing you can use. I have a a GG&G model GS-1 clamp-on rail. It was used as a riser, but you might be able to modify it to work or it may just snap-on and fit.

Can you post a photo of your upper receiver so we can see what you are dealing with?

I found this:
The Picatinny rail is very similar to the Weaver design, but they do not exactly interchange. The Weaver mounting rails have slots that are .180” wide and do not necessarily have a consistent spacing between the grooves. Picatinny slots are .206” wide with a center-to-center groove width of .394”.

Seems like it would be easier to buy some Weaver rings.
