I have a rifle pretty close to what your asking. I wanted a lightweight walkabout varminter so purchased a s/h rem model 7, trued the action, bushed the firing pin, added light weight bolt handle, gretan bolt shroud & firing pin assembly, 24" 1-8" Trueflite no 3 contour Fluted ultramatch barrel in 6br, deadnutz one piece mount with Leupold mk4 4-14, rifle basic trigger & then dropped into an mcm edge hunter stock. The rifle proved to be very accurate with the 95gr Berger vld's and would regularly print them at 0.25" @ 100 yds. I shot game out to 600 yards with this rig. Only thing I would probably have done differently now is use the Jewell hvr trigger and talleys lightweight rings. Good luck with your project, attention to detail should give you a very accurate rig.
