MOST ACCURATE POWDER YOU USE WITH .20 CAL. 34 GRN. (20 p)

Am prepping for an extended squirrel shoot and was wanting to do up a cheap load for squirrels within 200-300 yards. I had bought a box of 5,000 Varmint Nightmare or Nosler flat base 34 grain (label fell off the box and I bought them several years back in another shortage and don't recall for sure what the heck they are). Anyway - for you guys shooting 20 Practical, and using 34 grain bullets, any tips on what you found to be an accurate powder above the others? Thanks

N133 ain't cheap but it's the best I've found for the 20P. I've used Xterminator with 32s & 35s, good results.

From the main site here:

Robert Whitley has been developing a 20 Practical AR15 for us. Robert reports outstanding accuracy with both 32gr and 40gr bullets. Our prototype rifle is delivering 1/2-MOA or better accuracy with Berger bullets and H335 powder. Velocity is 3750 fps with the Berger 40-grainers in a 24″ barrel, and the 32s will run 4000 fps with the right load. Other good powders for the 20 Practical are H4198, N133, H322, and Accurate 2460.

Thanks for the tips, folks. I have used Accurate LT32 for my 32 , 39 and 40- grain bullets for years with great success in my 20P's. The rifle I'm trying to get this 34 grain load to work in says LT32 just isn't going to work this time.

I'm going to work up some more loads with exterminator, CFE223 and H4198. My best groups so far came with Reloader 7 and Varmint. I just sold my last jug of N133 to a fellow shooter that needed it pretty bad. Arghhh!

If you use H4198 in anything else, you may want to hang on to it. From previous posts and inquiries to Hodgdon about availability, it'll be a long time before it's again made.

Bruno’s has a good price on one pounders and they are in stock, I’ve seen N133 quite a bit as of late. If want more maybe this helps.

I didn't know that - thanks for passing that on. I have about 13 pounds and use it mainly in my .17 Hornet - so that will give close to 9,000 shots - while probably more than enough to finish off the barrel, I'll set that aside. I stocked up on powder big time about six years ago and haven't had to pay the big prices of today - at least not yet. I remember paying about $140.00 for a jug of Varmint and $190.00 for LT32 - and $2.00 to $4.00 for primers. Man - how things have changed!
