Me and my buddy have been working on coyotes as often as possible but with little luck. Friday evening via text we decided maybe early morning might prove successful.
I arrived at his house at 4:30 and he drove us to the first property to see what we could accomplish. We got one headed our way as we stand prepared in the shadows from a full moon. The light breeze shifted on us and the yote decided not to come into range. As were leaving we spotted 2 on an adjacent property he has access to so we snuck in and set up in the shadows again. Nope, not going to come to us. A 3rd property that has been good proved to be fruitless as the Sun sneaks up on the horizon.
The 4th property I spotted one moving in the timber we are planning to watch. We scurry in to position now in the shade from the sun. Fired up at low volume, a dying rabbit. Maybe 4 minutes in 2 yotes pop out of further timber at a gallop about 150yds out. They rounded the bend and came into view again at about 90yds. I whispered "I'll take the 2nd one" of course they traded position but there wasn't time to change plans. I attempted to stop them with a kiss sound. One stopped the lead dog only slowed. Only one shot was heard as we squeezed the triggers at the same time.
A nano second from catching lead.

The ensuing laugh and fist bump probably negated the chances of any other yotes from coming in.
