That is why I have two so I can rotate them, it helps if you have your own little Grizzly and can rethroat or setback anytime and at 30" I should be good for a few times.

The barrels is an Xcaliber blank that I had done to my specs by my smith
As far as velocity well into the 4000
I will get back with actual data

My boss (Dave Van Horn) took a 22-06AI to Africa. He took 3 Wildebeest, a zebra, waterbuck........
I think he was using 70 grain bullets, killed like a lightning bolt on broadside shots.
He is old school super fast small caliber.
Rifle is on third barrel, he gets about 500 shots.

That sounds about right give or take,
And when the throats do give up I will
Cut off 1/2 inch off they chamber end
Of the barrel,re ream it and shoot another
500 rounds, the barrel is 30" long with the
Taper starting further down than a typical
Varmint profile,so I will be able to do that
At least a half dozen times,

I don't find one better I like the 12 twist for 60gr through 80gr bullets with the Sierra 77gr hitting the sweet spot.
and as far as the 14 twist goes 40gr through 70gr with those 53gr Hornadys and 69gr Sierras being the nastiest thing I have shot in a long time. fun for me not so much for the Varmints, I was shooting at a 1/2" steel plate and I could not believe the dents those 53s and 69s were doing at 300 yards, I was not aware a 22 cal could have so much
energy. My border collie Jasmine was barking at a squirrel that was up in a tree, and when she would stop barking the squirrel would start barking at her. they kept going at back and forth for quite a while and I was trying to take a
shot, but I was laughing so hard watching them two go at it I could not hold steady for a shot, I finally took a shot
and took a huge chunk out of the tree branch right below where the squirrel was barking away, my dog was going out of her mind looking around for something to sink her teeth into but could not find anything, I think I found part of the tail I am not sure it was hard to tell what it was, I would have taken a pic but there was nothing to really take a pic of I still chuckle thinking of those two barking at each other.
