Forty two years ago Hunter and ole dad were enjoying a refreshing beverage on the porch. Why does time have to pass so quickly? Seems like last week I was 32 years of age with my first little son. Now both Hunter and Pate have breached the forty mark and both with their own families and businesses.
It is probably every parent’s dream for their children to exceed the successes of the parents themselves. I can say unequivocally that both my boys have achieved that level, and as a result, old dad is a happy guy.
Just recently I did a podcast and was asked if there was anything I regret or wish I had done differently in my life. After a few thoughtful moments I concluded that I was satisfied with the life I had lived, and added that if my time ended tomorrow, I would have no regrets. Life was not always easy, but the obstacles one overcomes in the process makes the journey more memorable.

Butch, I appreciate this thinking about being proud of the life a person has lived.

I suspect my chances for making 89 are very good------90 might be another matter.
Either way I've been gifted with a good life

Life is kinda like being a baseball player------you can't define your life by one trip
to the plate.

I remember sitting with one of my dad's friends while we waited on ducks and he held up
his M12 and told me how proud he was of of it and how we all needed some pride-----then
he topped it off with the statement that a man without pride is incapable of shame. I was pretty
young when he shared this but never have forgotten.

I went and watched my grandsons play baseball in little league last night. Cherish the moment. Theyll be teen agers driving before you know it. Doug

Nothing makes a parent prouder than to watch their children become Decent human beings in their own lives. Raising their children to reflect that same moral compass.
