More neck clearance needed on the larger calibers?

I'm building a .338 LM and my gunsmith is recommending 0.002 neck clearance on turned necks. I have read more than once that some people feel you need more neck clearance on the larger calibers.

Thoughts, opinions, experiences?

Thanks

Just my experience. I had a 300 wtby imp that I bought used and it had a .332 neck I believe if I remember right and the turned brass was a .3315 and you couldn't turn the brass anymore it was really thin. But the gun shot like a house on fire and only lasted 1300 rnds but it was fun to shoot in a 50lb. gun. It would easy shoot under 1" at 500 yds but it was my first bench gun and it shot small groups, I was just to dumb to put them where it counted. Till I figured it out the bbl. was toast. Just my .02.

I ask the same question last year and got 2 pages of answers...SEE BELOW
