Montana's Governor Greg Gianforte is the real deal.....

I set beside Governor Greg Gianforte most Sundays in church. If you listen to the shot show report interview Gov. Greg you'll see why so many business are moving here and setting up business. He's as down to earth as you can get. When I saw him in church a few years ago for the first time I was shocked. Flannel shirt, blue jeans, and cow boy boots and I thought he had horse apples on the heel of his boots no less. We chatted about trapping wolves at that time. I moved here form Pennsylvania 25 years ago and am glad I did.

The four different times I’ve been to the state of Montana either on hunting trips, fishing trips, or just sightseeing, I have always been very impressed with the friendliness of the people from Montana. I too am from Pennsylvania and had dreams of moving there, but at this point in life, I doubt it will happen. But as the saying goes never say never! Montana, the real deal!

There’s no state tax, lots of county’s don’t require building permits, no fees every time one makes a dump run and fuel is low. Kids get time off school to go hunting and occasionally the whole class goes fishing. Plus.. I can build a private rifle range on our own property as long as I don’t shoot across a road or near the neighbors place. And one last thing is the health care for seniors is far better than most would think.

When Montana started taxing social security I said NO NO NO!!
Well I don't like it either. But with n sales tax here I saved close to $6000 on sales tax by living here on the last 2 cars I bought here. Not counting all year long no sales tax. At the end of the year I'm glad my S.S. is taxed the weight of the balance is way in my favor by living here over the east coast area. So much work here now you can get a job anywhere these days. I look out my front window and on 3 sides of the house i see white snow capped up to almost 11'000'. In a bad snow storm I look out my back kitchen window and see hundreds f elk in the fields... I'll just stay here fr my part>>>>>>>

I would stay right there too

I'm fortunate to live just north of Gallatin Gateway Montana. We have no sales tax, lifetime licenses on boats, trailers, no registration of outboard motors, no personal property tax and residential property tax is about 40% of what it is in other locations. I buy a Sportsmans License every year which includes my hunting license, fishing license, state land use permit, upland game bird license, general elk license and deer license. If I remember correctly it cost me $64 for those endorsements. In addition to state owned lands, we can freely hunt any federal land and participate in the Block Management program where private land owners sign their land into an agreement that allows hunters access to their property free of charge. I was coyote calling in northern Montana a couple months ago and hunted two blocks of BLM land that were 333,xxx acres and 119,xxx acres. There were a few coyotes there to say the least. There is one thing that should always be remembered. MONTANA IS FULL, STAY WHERE YOU ARE (especially if you're from California). :D

Montana was on my short list of places to retire about 20 years ago. My broken old body can't handle northern Illinois winters much less a mountain winter in Montana. I am envious of the freedoms you enjoy. I could possibly consider a part time relocation during the warmer months.

Greg has been great for Montana! Busse, is a tool and I hope he has no chance of getting elected. Our AG Austin Knudsen is one of the best in the nation for gun rights and general freedom! Now if we can just replace Tester we'll be sitting good!

Where do you live? I hope so myself.

Is he the governor that signed the bill making Marijuana legal? My wife has family living in Billings. They never go shopping in town without leaving one adult in each vehicle...
One cool thing though, Shiloh Sharps is in Big Timber about two hours from where they hold the Quigley Rifle Match every summer. I think I have seven of them now, and a Model 1877 on order for this spring. I live in Idaho. We say "Idaho is what America was...".
