Moly back to Naked

Purchased first 6 BR a number of years ago and always shot moly in it. It can not get the same bullets in coated and
really do not wish to do moly myself with my situation. Approx. 1800 rounds down the barrel and happy with accuracy.
Gun still shoots better than me..
Can I or should I just start shooting naked bullets and get same results?? Or just get another barrel..?

Of course you can shoot naked bullets trough it...but before that I would clean it really good (to get as much moly out as possible, and then shoot some foulers) and most important - you should adjust your charge weight (naked bullets needs less powder to get the same velocity) so you wont get too hot load.

I have swapped back and forth a few times with a few barrels (with Moly and HBN). As has been mentioned, give it a good clean as well as some JB or Iosso and fire plenty of foulers or blow off shots before redoing load development. I usually dropped the load around 0.4 gns with the smaller calibres when going back to uncoated bullets.

The reason for lowering the charge is that you have less pressure with moly and will have more with the bare bullets. Going to bare will require a new tune and fresh start.
