Modifying a case holder for Gracey Trimmer?

Has anyone modified the case holder for a Gracey case trimmer to trim neck sized cases? I know Garcey will make me one, but I'm wondering if I could have a local guy open up my current case holder. I'm not sure if the holder is hardened?
