Modify H-S Precision Barrel Channel

I have an H-S Precision stock with a varmint barrel channel. Can the barrel channel be enlarged to fit a heavy bull barrel configuration.

Yes, a mill works the best of course but if you don't want to pay to have it done lay the barrel in the stock and trace about it with a pencil and start sanding or use a dremel tool if your careful.

I've done 2 with a router round nose bit.Take several cuts and smooth it all out with some sandpaper glued to a pvc tube or pipe. I turned it fast with a drill press setup. Pushed the stock under the cutter on a linear rail, there are other ways to do it I'm sure. lock the stock in a fixture and slide against a fence. Take your time it will work out. Air grinder with an aluminum bur...etc. I made 2 stocks like this and converted them for an F/open gun so they would ride the front and rear bags. Its a good way to experiment with what you have and its fun and almost free. Its a nice stock to modify, alum core is stiff and comes in handy when mounting the front 3" wide plate. Drill and tap.
