Moderate priced rifle for Antelope hunting?

I'm also looking and have heard some good things about savage and tikka. Any thoughts on the Thompson/Center Dimension which allows interchangeable barrels?

Thanks

For a hunting rifle its really hard to beat the Savage/Stevens 200. You get a rifle that is known for better than average accuracy right out of the box. Yes, the factory trigger isn't perfect but it really isn't that bad. You also get an internal mag, which helps when field conditions get nasty. The weight is light, the balance is good and if you want you can customize/improve it as much or as little as you like with a ton of affordable aftermarket parts. I've owned a number of 200s, along with much more expensive, fancier rifles. For a field gun you can't beat them.

Almost forgot to mention- had a 200 in .243 when I lived in WY. It sent more than a few mulies and pronghorns to the freezer.

What Mattir said sums it up! - I have seen these locally used "as new" for as little as $250 to $300 complete with a low-end 3-9 scope on them. I have had a couple in 223 for truck guns and they shot well under MOA.

I would personally buy a Savage or a Remington, before I felt the need to buy an imported rifle. I have nothing against the tikka but feel it's important to buy American.
