Hello Members,
this is my first thread on this site, and hoping to get an answer that I have been after.
I have a 1993 built Winchester Model 70 classic featherweight in .30/06 wth control round feed, I think this was the second year Winchester went back to the CRF bolt production.
It has the 2 piece floor plate, that is the steel hinged floor plate and the alloy trigger guard with 3 screws for attattaching to the action, forend and rear screws are the main ones and the centre one attaching the front of the trigger guard.
My question is - will the one piece all steel hinged floor plate assembly ( with 2 screws front and rear) that is used on the current model Winchester Model 70 be able to be fitted to my rifle.
I believe the middle screw does nothing to actually secure the barreled action to the floor plate assembly??
Maybe some here on the forum has been down this path!
Thanks for any help, Jay
