Mod. 70 Jewell Trigger

Hey guys

Do any of you know if the Jewell Trigger for a Winchester Model 70 can be adjusted as is or do i need to buy differant springs for it?

I have one and it is too light. If i need to buy springs i will probably try and swap the jewell with a rifle basix or a factory one.

Thanks

Matt

Matt,

I have worked with the Jewell M-70 trigger in a friends rifle, and I have found it to be as adjustable as the Remington version. If it still is not working the way you think it should you might want to flush it with lighter fluid, and or, blow it out with compressed air. If this fails, then you would want to contact the folks at Jewell to correct the problem. I hope that this will help you.

Cordially,
Bob Blaine

Thanks Bob

But i believe jewell uses differant springs for each differant pull weight. Gonna have to give jewell a call.

Yeah, there are three different springs, each covers a different weight range, at least, if it's the same as my Remington-style HVR triggers. The sheet that came with one of my triggers lists them as follows:

A: 8 oz. to 56 oz.
B: 2 oz. to 16 oz.
C: 1.5 oz. to 3 oz.

If it's a BR trigger, there are no other springs mentioned, only the 1.5 oz. to 3 oz. spring.
