Mod 70 Classic 270 WSM BBL heat

I have a Mod 70 Classic laminate stock chambered in 270 WSM . Had it glass bedded. Two or three shots and that bbl is hot :P and it starts to throw bullets badly. Beings its a Mod 70 am I wasting money >:( by having a custom bbl installed ? I just want a consistent long range rifle. In fact maybe re chamber to 7mm wsm ? :-\

acouple of points,
-the bbl may not be the problem, the bedding/free float
-The 70 square action has never shot as well as round actions like the 700 and other copies
-the cartridge is not the problem,
-dont waste money on the bbl change
-change the action = to a 700/savage round action and factory bbl may be just fine
-the 270 id.277 dia and the 7mmm is .284 no rechamber is possible

good idea,

if looking for a used one, check out gunbroker.com, and look elsewhere for any of the 7mm as bullet selection is very large
