46 sling and F-Class shooters shot in the individual matches and Sunday, June 22 at the Elk River Sportsman's Club in Elk River, MN. Conditions were nearly perfect starting out with the first match of the day. High humidity, overcast with the threat of rain and not nearly a breath of wind promised for some great scores.

"Epic"Adam Shidla (Fpskills) started off the first match with a 200-18X with his new Dasher nearly tying the national record for F-Open. Adam's score set the stage for a promising day. Several other clean scores were turned in for the first match, all with great X counts but none beating Adam. On the F-TR side of the line, sub-junior Jager Brabec turned in an amazing score of 197-9X setting a new Junior national record on his first string of the day. Jager joins his older brother, Tyson, as a national record holder. Reports are that young Tyson didn't want to load ammo before the match so he didn't compete. I bet he won't make that mistake again! Jim Kobe (Gundoctor) of Bloomington, MN was the smith on both of the above rifles.

Rain and lightning caused about a 90 minute delay before the second match of the day could start. By the time the highmasters on relay one got back to the line, conditions had settled into perfect conditions. Mirage was visible and steady, and the flags were barely moving. "Really Big Deal" Jon Clauson (Nosualc) turned in a 200-19X tying Bob Sebold's national record. Jon and his 6mmBRX rifle now hold two national records, 200-19X at 600 yards and 200-18X at 500 yards! Jon had concerns that his record setting barrel was getting tired before this match, it sure appears that the barrel is still competitive. Not willing for Jon to have all the glory, Lisa Olson (Luscious X Spot) turned in a 200-16X tying the Women's national record. Lisa is also shooting a 6mmBRX. Both Lisa and Jon's rifles were built by the Wizard of Westbrook, MN, Stan Ware.

Congrats to all the shooters who did well at the match!

It was really fun and easy pulling targets for Jon, Lisa and Adam while those matches were being shot ;D. Pretty easy to score the target when nothing leaves the 10 ring. Congrats to everyone on some amazing scores.

I'm still trying to figure out what went on in the target shack while the rain was coming down!! ;D

Glad to see BIG HIG pull out another win and shoot a 200-14X on the F-TR side!

Thanks to Scott, Gary and Dylan, who worked their tails off all weekend for a great tourney (despite the torrential rain/lightning we had on Sunday).

Congrats to Stacy, Fast Eddy, Lisa, and of course Jager (nice that the F T/R guys have to worry about a junior Brabec like we do on the F-Open side!)

ps - One of the things I learned this weekend is that a barrel that doesn't shoot as well as it used to at 100 can still shoot very well at distance. I'm not sure how that is the case, but it's true. 1700 rounds and counting.

Wow... Great shooting by all. I got the Saturday skinny from Skiutah02 & I just go the Sunday lowdown from SuanaKing... Wow.. Just awesome shooting guys, flat-out awesome!!

Fpskills.... I like "Epic" Adam better, then after a match you can DJ with the Big Hig and make a ton o cash on the side... I can see it now, "Epic Adam & the Big Hig" Sat nights at Ground Zero!!!

;D ;D ;D

Holy Cow Batman!!! These folks can shoot!!! Had a blast at the team shoot on Saturday. Son and son-in law shot for the 1st time and had a great time. As usual ERSC and all who helped put on a great show! Had to fly on Sunday and my meager shooting skills would have been no match for the scores that were put up! Congrats to all those new "record holders"! Haven't heard who won the match but 200-19x's and 200-18x's would certainly put one in running. Congrats again, Eric in DL

I would like to take a minute to thank Scott Olson for running this match and most of the matches i have shot in in the past. he has given more time , blood & sweat than most any one else could. He and i are also surrounded by the best bunch of guys and gals i could hope to have as friends. I thank you sir. Ed

Thanks for the kind words Ed. Congrats again on the 200-14X! Quite a score for you to finally break the 200 curse with. Two more X's and you would have joined the record holders! One more match to get in the books and then you and I get to go back at it!
