Missouri Opening Day Gobbler

Outstanding!
The season opened last weekend here in KY, but they began breeding earlier than normal due in part to unseasonably warm weather.
No one in my circle of hunters has taken one yet. With the relatively mild winter we experienced, there are plenty of Birds. It was frustrating watching them all strutting in the fields along I-64 weeks before opening day.
Keep us posted.

I, too, have been very pleased with the Burris Speed Bead RDS for hunting.

This is actually a Trijicon RMR on a Scalarworks base, but I've used the Burris on a Browning Gold in the past.

Red Dots work well as long as they are mounted low enough. There are sure a lot of turkeys missed because of Red Dots mounted way too high.

Agreed. That is exactly why I chose the Speed Bead; even if battery fails, I can still use my mid-rib/front sight aiming method.

Gun looks to be a Supernova. I have a Nova. Are the slides on the Supernovas noisy like the std Novas? I had to put o-rings on mine. Also after the damn thing gave me a flinch, I put in the mercury recoil reducer and replaced the hard rubber recoil pad with a Simms. I rue the day I first sighted it in with clamp on iron sights. Only had 3.5" turkey magnums to shoot. I never had any respect for recoil, I do now.

Yes, Benelli Super Nova. Still just as clunky as the Nova slide, but if I do my job, the Bird will never hear me working the action.
I started out with a Nova, put a Simmons 4X Turkey Spl scope and Dead Mule (?) mercury recoil reducer in the stock. After hunting near Cloudcroft, NM at 8,000+ ft elevation, I learned that it was too heavy for the run/gun tactics needed there.
Bought the newer comfort tech stocked Super Nova, and kept it as light as possible. I rarely notice the first shot, but patterning is not my favorite activity.
With the Winchester Long Beard 3 1/2" #5s I am capable of deadly patterns to 55 yds with the 3" shells only a few yards shy of that.
To be clear, I prefer shots within 30 yds.
Will get a better image of the Speed Bead.

Damn Governor won't allow hunting. You know how you have all those people in the blind with you and the overflow sitting around in lawn chairs? I suppose there might be a social distancing thing there somewhere.
I'm switching to a 20 ga, 3" 1-5/8 TSS #7 & #9. Should reach out there. I like to shoot em in on the decoys <30 yards.

I have been eyeing the TSS loads, but at $7-$10 per shot they are too expensive for my budget.

The RMR is top notch! If I could mount it like the Speed Bead, I would have to save my money for the upgrade.
Note how low mine sits relative to the line of sight....

The dot appears to be high and slightly off center, but being a parallax free design it actually cowitnesses with the front bead.
Just difficult to take an image with one hand to illustrate my view.
