Miss...miss...missed again.

Man I was worse than being poked by a sharp stick the last few days out after coyote.
Its like I could not hit the side of a barn standing 1" from it day or night calling.
Double checking both rigs & of course they are dead on, put the crosshairs on a standing still coyote and I see nothing but dust and the brown eye of its rear end after puling the trigger.
We ened up with 9, should of had 16 though.
Both of us missed chip shots to many times.
This is the worse Ive ever shot....yea my ol pal gave me crap all the time also.
MissEmAll jimbo was my name for the last few days...hahahah.
Now of course when he missed chip shots it was ok!

The reason you missed, obviously, is because you expected to get all those coyotes....I can tell by the set-up you have to tie them down! SWEET!

Some days you are the bird. Other days the worm. Seeing how much you get out there, I am sure you will make up for it! Enjoy your posts so much, keep it up.

Some days you're the hammer, others the nail.. My 204 did that to me last summer. Finally decided I needed to really clean er out.. After a very thorough cleaning and de-coppering session it was still not right.. Ended up sending my scope to Leupold for a rebuild..

I'd take it to the bench and check my zero.

I was thinking the same thing. Where are you that it's cold enough that the dogs have a full winter coat?
These are all eastern CO coyotes. Temps were from 27 at night to 47, but all have nice thick fur right now.
Oct has not been that cold overall as day temps run 50s-80s still.
From judging by how thick they are so far it may be a cold winter?

Confidence in yourself and what you are shooting is almost half of the battle. When you start 2nd guessing yourself, your ammo, or your gun, your mind is on the wrong things. Think out your shot, know you can do it, and follow through from chambering, or safety release, to impact with the target.

I don't know about you, but I remember the "easy" misses longer than the tough shots I've made. I still get "coyote fever" whether the coyote makes a sudden appearance at the call, or can be seen coming from a mile away. I hope I'm never cured. ;)

Anyhow, it's OK to leave a few for seed.
