Minnesota Monday Night 600 yard Approved League

Hi Shooters,
The Elk River Sportsman's Club is having a Monday night F-Class league for the 7th year! This year, all 12 weeks at 600 yards will be NRA Approved matches so scores can go for classification if you like. New or unclassified shooters must attend the orientation, 100 yard and one of the two 300 yard nights to shoot in the league.

The snow has been plowed from the 100 and 300 yard firing lines and 600 yards will be cleared today. Winter has a death hold on the KD Range, but nothing that diesel horsepower can't fix!
Email or call for more info.

Scott, If I am correct, after the match on April 21 I should have enough shots to get classification, between that and last year's mid range state championship, that sound right? Looking forward to getting down to a couple shoots this summer

With the 80 for record last year at the MN State Championship, you need 40 more to get a card. We will honor your temporary classification book from last year, or we can get you one after you shoot. The NRA has been a little slow sending out cards.

never got a temporary classification book, so, after the shoot it will be

Can you explain this classification deal?

Can a guy come shoot just one or two days of the league?

Xs,
The NRA classifies shooters based on their scores shot for record at approved or registered matches. After 120 shots for record at NRA sanctioned matches, the NRA sends out the classification card. Without the classification from the NRA, a shooter is "Unclassified" and competes with classified Masters. ERSC has temporary scorecards to record shots fired until the official card comes from the NRA.

ERSC runs this league as an Approved match so scores count towards classification. 6 nights are required to get the 120 shots for record. We are also having 3 nights in June which will have a course of fire of 40 shots per night for a easier way to get 120 shots for record.

If you are planning on just comming out for a few nights you will need to come to the orientation on April 8th. For more information visit out website and look for the F Class link on the left side. There is contact info on the links if you have more questions.

Okay thanks. I shot a regional last year. I think is was 60 shots. So this year after shooting another 60 round match I would then be "classified"??

Thanks again. It'd be a long drive to get down there but I'm just looking at a few more opportunities to shoot.

Xs,
Come on down for the Wind Clinic. That will be 80 shots at 600 yards. You will be good to go.

Orientation for all new shooters who don't have a NRA classification starts tonight with the classroom and powerpoint presentations. April 15th is the 100 yard equipment test night which is also mandatory for all new/unclassified shooters. We then finish out April at 300 yards and then we shoot 600 yards ofr the rest of the summer.
See you all at the range,
Scott
