Millet buck gold Target/Varmint scopes 6-24x56

Okay, I am looking for a decent, accurate scope for target work out to 1000 yards that is under $600.

The Millet Buck Gold Series Target-Varmint 6-24x56 seems to fit the bill, but I have not heard anything about them. All comments are welcome and appreciated.

I have an acquaintance who bought one of the new top-of-the-line Millet tactical scopes several months ago. He's the kind of guy who likes to brag about how he buys stuff with the same features for a lot less money than the trusted proven equipment that most experienced shooters are spending their money on. He bragged on his new Millet purchase, touting the amazing specs that it had,on paper) and how it had all of the features that the rest of us were spending the big bucks for Leupold, Nightforc, etc.

To make a long story short, I saw him a few weeks ago and asked him how his new Millet was doing. To his credit, he admitted that the thing lost its tracking ability, and worse, he hadn't been able to get ahold of Millets' customer service department after many phone calls and e-mail attempts.

Possibly a lesson learned .........
