Military Discounts?

Does anyone know of gunsmiths that give military discounts? I love working on my own guns but there is just some stuff I can't do without having a lathe/mill. Any other service members that can help out, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Mitch

I've got a Rem 700 that I plan on having trued, probably replace the barrel while I'm at it. I've got quite a few guns that I will have worked on, but for now that is the main thing on my mind.

Depending upon how detailed you want to get into trueing, there are a lot of guys that can true the reciever & lap lugs. If you get into sleeving, that's a whole different deal that really narrows the playing field.

Brownells, Sportsman's Warehouse, and GT Distributors provide military discounts. Brownells is probably your best bet for parts, etcetera.

5% Military Discount at Cabela’s Rescinded for all firearm related products.

When Ball Pro Shop acquired Cabela’s, the 5% Military Discount for all firearm related items was rescinded. Firearm related items include rifles and pistols (pellet, black powder), reloading equipment (presses and dies), components (powder, primers, bullets, brass), optics, and etc. The rescinded discounts also apply to Law Enforcement, First Responders, and Cabela employees.

One may wish to consider this when visiting Cabela's. Bass Pro Shop has every right for this corporate policy, it is however the military that preserves their right for the policy.

I knew there was a good reason I never shopped the bass boys before. It will be interesting to see how that works out.

My wife bought a honda Del Sol several years ago. Part of the deal was free oil and filter changes for life for the original owner. Two years later, the dealership was sold to a conglomerate from out of state. They had a separate oil change building, which featured a full sheet of plywood with that promise painted on it in 6" high lettering. She goes in one afternoon, gets the oil/filter change, and they hand her a bill for $22, parts and labor. She ends up in the dealership manager's office. He tells her that there was no such offer. She tells me, and I drive over the next afternoon. When he tells me that stuff, I walk him over to the building and show him a dingy wall, with a bright white rectangle in the middle. I tell him he is a liar, and he informs me that he was just moved from Utah to this Boise store, and did not realize what was there. As a gesture of good will, he offers to refund my wife's $22. I tell him to keep it, but that it will be the last time either of us drives onto the property. Two weeks later she tells me she wants a new car. We go car shopping, and come home with a new competing brand. We stopped by the honda dealership on the way home to show the GM what $22 cost him. It was very satisfying to listen to her tell him off...
