I am sorry to announce that Mike Jakubczak of Troy, Missouri passed away yesterday after a recent diagnosis of cancer…..

Many on here may know him as “IMMIKE” on this site.
Mike was a great shooter and an avid outdoorsman. He competed with muzzle loaders, Benchrest, and fclass.
He had a heart to see new shooters succeed. He was a mentor to me when I started fclass….

He hasn’t competed much in recent years,
So he could spend more time with his family and grandchildren.
Though not shooting as much, he still followed the matches, and was usually good to send a word of encouragement.

I know a lot of people on here shot with him.
He will be missed.

Mike and I were team mates years back. Got to spend a lot of time with him and he was definitely one of the good guys. We use to always meet at his place and fry fish and cook fresh mushrooms before the Mid-West and Sierra Cup. He always opened his home to folks and did the same with his heart. Wished I'd talked to him more often in the recent years...St. Louis will never be the same without you Mike...May you RIP..

A pic of our team back in 2014 in Reading, PA..

So sorry to hear the news of Mike's passing.
I'v had a good time shooting with Mike over the years.
He was always very helpful and encouraging to the new shooters and youth.

He will be missed.

First met Mike 2018 at Sierra Cup
Great guy, will be missed

Damn. Shot with Mike any number of times, got to know him a bit back in ‘15 or so when I spent some time on a job close enough to SLBRC to shoot there a few times. I believe he was responsible for the frog legs one of those trips…Sorry to learn he’s gone.
