All,
I attended the match at Mifflin this past Saturday and thoroughly enjoyed myself. In fact, I brought my wife along to spot for me (this is her first time out to a shoot) and she had a good time as well.
The folks at Mifflin were very welcoming and helpful to this neophyte shooter and helped make our experience a positive one. Their facility is everything that it needs to be. Everything from 16 great benches, to people running a well regimented (but not hectic) match, to the nice folks in the hut cooking food and the others making sure that the targets are scored and posted properly. Kudos to all that make the match run!
My wife thought it was very cool that a bear sauntered across the range into the woods before the match started. But she didn't like how that darned mirage kept her from seeing bullet holes in the targets at 500 yards. Oh well, she'll get used to it. As the shooter, evidently I HAVE TO get used to it! HeHe!
