There is another thread below about a different powder . I thought somebody might be interested in MP-600.
So I read about American Reloading and their products on another forum a couple of months ago and bought some MP600 because it was listed as similar to N204 and suitable to load in the 6.5 Creed. with 140 gr bullets. I grabbed the N204 data which shows 40.7 to 42.9 grs with a 143 gr bullet . I wanted to establish a range that I could safely load MP 600 with 140 gr. bullets . I started at 5% below the N204 data @38.5grs and increased the load to 0.5grs till I saw any pressure sign ( Flattened Primer , extractor marks , etc. ) . I used new Peterson brass large Rifle Primer , Rem 91/2 primers , and Speer 140gr Hot-Core bullets. I am shooting a Ruger Predator Stainless. I started seeing flattened primers and extractor marks about 44.2-44.5 grs..
Now I am trying to find accurate load between 42.0 grs and 43.6 grs MP600 ( my unofficial max charge for this combination) . I don't have a working Chrono I am just looking for good shooting loads .
ANYBODY lOADING MP600 ( or any other non canister powder) SHOULD DO THEIR OWN TESTING . i'M JUST TELLING ANYBODY THAT IS INTERESTED WHAT i AM DOING AND WHAT WORKS IN MY GUN. i WILL LIKELY GO THROUGH THE SAME ROUTINE IN MY 708 WITH 145GR BULLETS IN A COUPLE OF MONTHS.
