Midway sale on Speer .224 TNT 50-gr

Midway now has Speer TNT .224 50 Grain Box of 1000 for $75.67. This is a really good varmint bullet, accurate and explosive, and was always a bargain. I prefer flat-base HPs in lighter bullets. I stocked up on some 250-ct a few years ago when availability was sporadic, paid a lot more for those.

Thanks a lot. You just cost me almost 90 bucks! Seriously, that was a smoking deal on some very nice bullets. Can't have too many bullets in stock for the .223. Has anybody tried them in a 1 in 8" twist barrel? Just wondering if they hold up okay in a Stag Model 6. If not, no worries, as I am sure they will be fine in my Remington SPS Varmint with the 1 in 12" twist.

WOW !!! Thats 10Yrs ago pricing. They are
great PD bullets.
You are not suppose to run them past
3500 but I shot several in a Swift @ 39??
and they held together. LDS

My order is on "hold" from earlier today. It said they only had 13 units at the low sale price. I bet Midway claims it was a mistake and tries to back out on the sale. We shall see..........

Well, they did call it "clearance", and that was 13,000 bullets. I did what I could, fellas. Some of you cashed in, anyway. Maybe someone will offer a few to the needy among us. 8)

PS Midway had sent me an e-mail notification they were on sale, because I had once had some on back order. They wrote "Stuff you like is on sale."

PPS My fear is Speer are "going green" as they have had their lead-free TNTs available for some time already. We may not be able to get the regular ones much longer. Just a hunch.

Well my on "hold" status has changed to shipped. Great deal! Thanks again for the heads-up.

Midway does sales they call clearance but they are really just one-time deals for stuff they keep in stock. I picked up a killer deal on a Sightron SIII varmint scope a few months back. I then called a buddy and he tried to get one minutes later -- but it was a one-shot deal, even though they had more in stock. I have seen them do that before. It pays to look at stuff you want on their site. once in a while you get real lucky.

There may be a way to register items you "like" or "watch" and get an e-mail when it's on sale or clearance like I got (mine was something I had on backorder one time.) That way you don't have to look often and be so lucky. You just have to check e-mail and pounce.
