Midway dropped my Winchester brass

Don't know if this is posted elsewhere, but I just received notification that Midway would not be carrying the three calibers of Winchester brass that I was interested in, 22 Hornet, 22-250 and 300 Win Mag. I assume it applies to other calibers but I have not checked to be sure.

They may have just not gotten any in so long and dont know when theyre gonna get it so they just took away your hopes for now or backorders. I dont think it was a deliberate ploy to not carry a few different pieces of brass because they just dont like it

Ggmac How much were you paying for the 225 win. brass? I have some don't know what they are but I'll look.

At this point, I think the major ammo makers are content to keep the shelves at Wally World well stocked. If they can sell loaded ammo why sell components? There's probably more money in the loaded ammo sales. We may never see some of the obsolete/not real popular calibers again. And the only time we'll see the common calibers is if they mistakenly have an over run or revise their production figures (for loaded ammo).

Just looked there is 13 boxes Win. 225 plus about 40 rounds that are loaded, didn't look to see with what. But you can always pull the bullets. I had the rifle but sold it and the guy didn't wan't the brass. If I would have known what it was I would have kept it. It belonged to a guy that passed away.

This brass thing is perplexing. Remington hasn't made anything for a couple years, Winchester & Fed are hit and miss again. Lapua seems to be coming up empty handed on a lot of very popular brass as of late.

Seems to be the opposite here. Every store in town is getting a shipment of Winchester brass.

In my opinion, the manufacturers mentioned above are as much a part of the conspiracy as the "gentleman" residing in the white house!!!!!

Doesn't hurt to look around; sometimes it's surprising where you find brass when you need it and Midway or another of the big guys doesn't have it ( a lot of the less common calibers are made in once a year or even less often batches, which doesn't help us, as users, much if our need schedule is out of sync with their production schedule). I'm probably going to get flamed for this, but a few years back I needed Hornet brass and it wasn't to be found: on a whim I checked Cheaper Than Dirt, and not only did they have all I needed, the price was less than the advertised price of all the places that listed it as out of stock, don't know when we'll get it again. Go figure.

I wonder if Midway was just flushing the backorders out of the system or if there were some part number changes or......

I thought maybe this was a Midway thing. I checked 3 places that are usually good, no 300 WM and lots of out of stock on rifle brass. Two of the places are heavy match sponsors. One isn't taking backorders. Is this country reloading that much??
