Midway announcement about lower shipping rates.

I received this group email today from Midway announcing some new greatly reduced shipping charges. I've always liked doing business with Midway, and have admired Larry Potterfield for being a gentleman who has always strived to operate his business in an ethical and efficient manner. This is just another enhancement to an already fine company to do business with. Here are the details;

Dear Randall,
37 years ago, when we first opened the gun shop, my favorite part of the job was visiting with and taking care of Customers. Always listening and learning, I did everything possible to make sure Customers were satisfied. Over the years, the desire to continuously improve everything, so Customers are always satisfied, has become part of the MidwayUSA culture. Continuous Improvement is at the core of everything we do -- listening, learning and improving; always putting Customers first.
One of the things that has always bothered me, was how much mail order companies had to charge for shipping packages. Freight is expensive! But we discovered that if MidwayUSA re-engineered our system for shipping packages -- tirelessly improving our processes so they were extremely efficient, and had great relationships with our freight partners -- so we received the very best rates; well, if we could do those two things, we could save our Customers a lot of money on shipping costs. So, that’s exactly what we did!

Today, I’m very pleased to announce one of the most important improvements for Customers we’ve ever made -- our new Nitro Express Shipping® system. We’ve spent several years and millions of dollars to develop one of the best, most efficient shipping systems in the country; and we’ve negotiated very hard with our freight partners -- all to save our Customers money on shipping costs.

Right off the bat you’ll notice that most shipping costs went down substantially; and our new rate chart is really easy to understand. There are no small order fees and shipping costs are calculated ‘real-time’ as you add products to your shopping cart. The complete details are available by clicking on ‘Shipping Charges & Options’ on our website, or you can click here http://www.midwayusa.com/cart/shippingrateinfo?cm_mmc=pe_event-_-phi-_-larryletter_20140623_1-_-Link . I hope you’re pleased with MidwayUSA’s new Nitro Express Shipping® system.

This is probably in response to people's displeasure with Midway's inflated shipping and handling charges. I have heard more than a few complaints about them. I also had a poor experience with their customer service that lead me to stop doing business with them. Ive heard both good and bad about Midway. Unfortunately, my experience was not on the good side.

This is great news as a lot of things that are not in stock elsewhere are in stock at midway. Now I can back to buying more from them like in the past.

I check Bullets.com first , Shiraz does a excellent job and his communication has been second to none.. Midway if I can't find it, Shipping was to high for to long..

On the advice of a friend, began using Third Generation Shooting Supply, mainly because of their $7.95 flat rate shipping. If they do not have the needed item I'll look elsewhere, but they usually get the first shot.

Their error and they wouldn't exchange it with the item I ordered. Had to get another over priced shipping charge out of me.

A minimum requirement do do business with me it to be responsible for your mistakes. Their customer service frustrated me so badly that I'm done with them now. They were fine when they didn't screw up, but their customer service proved to be a customer dis-service with me.

It's good to see Midway has reduced their fees. And, it's nice to have many vendors to choose from in the U.S.

We are still very fortunate.

Been doing business with them for a lot of year, but over the last year or two their shipping costs have gotten out of hand. They used to be my go too place, so I'll give them another try.

I just checked a few items to see shipping rates and a couple looked "reasonable" and some still looked high. But I have always had good service and get my orders within 2 days. So can't argue with that

Typical when business get's too big.Happy they took a step back and actually looked at it.I might start using them again.Maybe they do care about the customer.

After receiving the email about shipping rates, I just ordered a Hornady bullet puller and four collates from Midway. Of all the dealers I checked they were the only one with everything in stock. I opted for USPS delivery and fee was $3.99, not too bad, and an improvement over previous rates. Their pricing was in line with all the other vendors.

I remember way back when the company was small and they had free shipping charges, I bought lots from them. Then came the charges as the company grew, I switched to Grafs and have been very happy with a fixed rate and quick service. I used Midway as a last resort. Lately I have been using Bullets.com and am very happy with service and shipping, good job Shiraz!

I quit doing business with shiny nose Larry P. 10 yrs. ago. I won't go back for all of reason above mentioned reasons.
