Micro sight

Has anyone used the micro sight on a match rifle rear sight yet? Sinclair has thm now for the Match rifles and I was wondering if anyone has tried it.

Thanks

Gary, I assume you will have an opinion upon the sight radius issue. They say 33" in optimum, my Palma rifle is about 36". Interested what you see.

I bought one from one of the vendors at Camp Perry this summer and returned it later the same day. My rifle is a 26" barreled spacegun and the sight radius was NOT right for this. It made the sight picture very dim and unclear - much worse than without it. I would not have been able to shoot with it installed. The lens did not seem to be of very high quality, in my non-expert opinion - just looked like plastic and not very clear. The one I had was the only one the vendor had at Perry so I was not able to try another one. Very possible that it was just a bad example of the product.

On another note, I also have the Service Rifle Microsight and like it very much.

YMMV

Gary, I bought one from Sinclair and I put it up to my eye looking through it at the tip of my outstretched finger(I have long arms) and it was very blurry(both near finger and far target...BLURRY. I have 20-15 vision still...I cant possibly see how this is going to work...besides that there has to be a range to target this gizmo is built for...what range is that ? 1000 or 200..big difference in focus.
when I looked at different distant objects all was blurry...Ill put my Gehman 530 on it and see if a diopter reduction does anything compared to the openness of the little gizmo hisself.

Have been in contact w/ Sinclair and they sent information from the gent who designed the lens. The Sinclair/Gehmann 560 Microsight is intended for barrels from 30-32" - not a sight radius of 33". It needs to be in fairly straight alignment with the front sight at the mid-point (mechanical zero) of windage and (ideally) mid-point of the range of elevation. It was designed for Long Range (800-1000 yds.) shooting. The unit for Service Rifles is designed for the 20" bbls. and shorter ranges. No word on a unit for other barrels or mid-ranges. Eye sight needs to be corrected for distance (as opposed to front sight) focus. Rear sight diopters are helpful, front sight lenses are not.
They recommend magnifying the rear sight instead, preferably with an adjustable diopter to help 'dial if in'.
All in all I think I will let the dust settle a bit before I try one.
