Email I just received from Dorothy Coleman

Butch, I wanted to tell you so you can hopefully tell the benchrest community that Mickey (Coleman) has passed away this morning about 7:35am. He had been sick for a couple of weeks with ulcers in esophagus-stomach and small bowel. He was so weak. I took him back to the hospital last night.

He loved all of you so much. I don't think any of you really do know how deeply he cared for all of you. If you could make sure Tony and Faye, Billy Stevens and Bart Sauter know about his passing I will appreciate it so much. Also Wilbur Harris. I am going to miss him so much.

So sorry to hear that. Mickey was a gentleman of the highest order.

Wow, my prayers and heart go out to Mrs. Coleman. Mickey was the finest gentleman I ever dealt with and never had the chance to meet him. The sport is diminished by his passing.

He's with some of the best shooters this world has ever know...imagine the conversations and ideas the are talking of.

Much respect and condolence....... to the Coleman family and friends.

Betting he's up there shooting Benchrest, smiling down at us, right now....

I received the news earlier today. Still hard to believe, as I was just down there a few weeks ago. I purchased his lathe & mill at that time. It's going to be bittersweet using his equipment. May a small piece of him live with every project the equipment sees. Last and not least ... May god be with his family & friends during this time. He will be missed by many!

didn't actually know the man .. but sorry to hear a fallen brother passing..

Prayers sent for Mrs. Coleman and family

My deepest condolences as well. For those of us that did not have the pleasure and honor of knowing Mickey I would love to read a simple bio celebrating and detailing his life from those who knew him....

I have shot matches with Mickey around the country and have been a guest in his home. Mickey was very truthful, courteous, kind, and a loving family man. Mickey absolutely loved dogs. He rescued them and always had several around on his property. If I were a dog I would love to have Mickey as my owner.
Mickey had a very nice 200 yard range next to his house and by his shop. It was known as Rachels Glen. He hosted at least one registered match a year. People came from all over the country to participate. Mickey was a very religious man, but lead by example and didn't proselytize. Mickey hated it if a person didn't make an effort to spell properly. I wear out spell check.
It has been said, Mickey is not unhappy as he is where he wanted to be. We are the only ones sad about Mickey.

Sorry to hear this.. :(
Mickey is a fine & friendly gentlemen. I still remember we had a nice talk & traded a few items @ the SuperShoot many years ago.
He's missed by many....my deepest condolences & prayers here.
seb.

Mickey will be miss and remembered. When a person dedicated as much time and effort to promote his sport he is a true giver. Mickey gave much more than most to his love for BR. Rest in peace Mickey.

We are diminished

A fine man. He will be missed. I never met Mickey face to face, but we shared a few e-mails from time to time. my prayers go out to the Coleman family.
