MGM targets.

Hey all I'm thinking about making an order with MGM targets.

Has anyone bought any steel targets from MGM targets?

Anyone have any good or bad experiences?

Thanks.

I just bought a couple steel targets from gongshot.com Nice looking targets and they arrived TWO DAYS after I ordered them. I just got the square steel 3/8" ar500 hardness. I havent hung them yet, but plan to later this week and smack them around a bit.

Kona,

A lot of guys don't have wide open area to shoot (their own range), and a lot of ranges have fixed target holders. The ranges typically have rules stating that you can shoot at targets on the backers only, which means you can NOT set up targets on the ground, like a gong, or steel plate. It sucks, because shooting gongs, clay birds, and golf balls at long range is awesome! Most ranges won't let you set the stuff up for liability reasons. (They want the bullets to impact the mounds, not hitting the ground and potentially deflecting into something?).

Many people have no need for steel targets, or have no place to use them. That's probably why you're not getting many responses.

i have a bianchi plate rack and two other's from MGM. have ABUSED them all, NO problems dogdude

Do your research on hardness, tempering, and thickness. Inexpensive steel will work with handgun ammo. You need armorplate (hardened steel) to survive multiple high velocity rifle rounds. There's a reason good rifle steel targets are pricey.

Update on the gongshot targets.

I went out and blasted them a bit yesterday. Well, in fairness I should say that my nephews GF hit them more than I did ???

Several impacts from 223 remington shooting 75 gr hpbt's at 2700 fps MV, and all it did was splatter the paint. No dammage on the base metal at all.

These are GTG in my book.

Thanks for the info. I think I might make a order on some smaller stuff from them. From there clearance.
