Those Roosters are neat fish. We caught them close in up against the rocks and surf. It limited their vision and they hit with reckless abandon.Taking a break from shooting and i am in loretto mexico fishing . Not much dorado or yellow tail here.. So we went rooster fishing.
Places on the border are definitely sketchy. Farther down south we haven’t had any issues, hunting outside of Hermasillo has been uneventful but fly over the border in both cases.Nice fish but just wondering if it's safe to go down there with the violent drug cartels? Well maybe they're all up here instead with the way things are now.
That’s awesome, I like the smaller ones to eat but that’s big bull Mahi. The colors on those fish are amazing, I wish they didn’t lose it so fast once they go on ice.By time i got this guy in the boat i was whipped, as you can tell by my face.
I kept tell the boat captain, picture first picture first, but as you can see by the picture he'd already lost most of his color. My buddy has some really good pictures of him jumping out of the water. But he hasn't forwarded them to me yet. That’s awesome, I like the smaller ones to eat but that’s big bull Mahi. You can eat them at a restaurant, but a gringo can't catch them. Might just be loretto area . There is some sort of Refuge there.Wow! Last time I was there, I had them for breakfast, lunch an dinner! It was 1976, tho.
I guess times have changed!
We talked about los barriles alot.We didn’t go last year or this summer but before that we would go every year to Los Barriles on the Sea of Cortez side. Outstanding fishing for Marlin and tuna. Been to Alaska last summer and going again this summer but might have to switch back to Mexico next year. Great fishing, great food
